Subject to a Final Investment Decision (FID), the project is expected to progress into the full EPC phase by late 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This contract marks a significant step forward in the CO\u2082 transport infrastructure to support large\u2011scale industrial decarbonization.<\/p>\n<p>Building on IMODCO\u2019s long-standing expertise in jettyless offshore loading systems, the FEED will define a CO\u2082\u2011ready TOU concept designed for the harsh conditions of the North Sea. The engineering phase integrates recent development work, including advanced marine simulations and operational assessments tailored to offshore CO\u2082 handling.<\/p>\n<p>The project contributes to the broader development of offshore CO\u2082 transport and storage solutions\u2014an important enabler for industrial decarbonization in Europe. It also underscores IMODCO\u2019s contribution to SBM Offshore\u2019s track record in delivering reliable, safe and pioneering offshore energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The TOU will have 3 main functions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a North Sea weathervaning mooring solution for Carbon Collectors\u2019 vessels<\/li>\n<li>Transfer CO2 from the vessels to the CO2-store.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a stable platform for maintenance activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>&#8220;This project represents an important evolution of our jettyless offshore loading technology toward new energy applications,&#8221; said Perry Adams, Product Line Director at IMODCO Terminals. &#8220;By applying our proven expertise to CO<\/em><em>\u2082<\/em><em> transfer, we are helping to build the infrastructure needed for large\u2011scale decarbonization. <\/em><em>It also aligns with SBM\u2019s strategic priorities of decarbonization and diversification, besides highlighting our role in the energy transition space.<\/em> <em>We\u2019re proud to work with Carbon Collectors on a solution that accelerates the energy transition and reinforces IMODCO\u2019s position in SBM Offshore\u2019s innovation-driven portfolio.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFor Carbon Collectors- says Ludo van Hijfte, CEO &#8211; this project kicks-off a new phase in realising our ambitions for providing a significant contribution to the reduction of industrial CO2-emissions in Europe.
