SBM Offshore, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), subsidiaries of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), today announced the signing of a contract for the construction of the seventh generic Fast4Ward\u00ae Multi Purpose Floater (MPF7).<\/p>\n<p>The MPF7 features SBM Offshore\u2019s Fast4Ward\u00ae proprietary generic standard hull design. This is a standard hull design for Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSO), with a storage capacity up to 2.3 million barrels of crude oil, adaptable for a wide range of sea conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The MPF7 will inherit the highly optimized design of its predecessor, including accommodation capacity for upto 240 personnel. The floater&#8217;s design strictly adheres to stringent international offshore standards, with tailored optimizations in environmental protection, safety, and crew comfort.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d8ivind Tangen, CEO at SBM Offshore said: \u201c<em>This contract award reflects the robust market outlook and demonstrates how SBM leverages standardization and strategic partnerships for strong competitive positioning.
